The leak of a sealed grand jury report may have blown the 2026 general election wide open. Democrats say the 19-page grand jury report shows that top Republicans knowingly flouted Florida law when they diverted $10 million from a Medicaid settlement to political action committees controlled by Attorney General James Uthmeier controlled. They may not be wrong.

As artificial intelligence permeates nearly every aspect of the world, Florida’s education leaders are putting pen to paper to create regulations to rein in and coordinate its use inside classrooms. The boards governing public schools from a student’s start to finish are hoping to put rules in place next month.

The gun debate following the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting remains relevant in the 2026 gubernatorial race. Byron Donalds told the Phoenix he wants to remove certain provisions of the law passed in the wake of the shooting, while David Jolly wants it to stay on the books.
