The Legislative Budget Commission meets one last time next week ahead of the November elections to go over the state’s financial outlook and sign off on budget amendments that would direct more money into the state’s immigration enforcement activities. Commission members also will discuss the findings of the state’s Long Term Financial Outlook, a snapshot of the state’s budget situation for the next three years.

Sheriffs across Florida are removing license plate-reading cameras in state right-of-ways after the DeSantis administration sent a memo announcing it revoked active permits for the Flock cameras.

Will St. Petersburg be the next municipality in Florida to take the plunge and run its own utility? A group of petition gatherers sure hopes so. The group announced this week it is launching a campaign to collect 16,200 signatures, the benchmark needed to place a charter amendment on the ballot about locally owned utilities.
