The governor’s office hasn’t dignified our inquiries with a response, but AG James Uthmeier disclaims knowledge of any such thing. Still, Uthmeier has been criticizing Worrell for months over her alleged failures. Worrell called a news conference in Orlando to call attention to the situation, noting that her office is considering looking into possible spending in her area linked to the Hope Florida taxpayer money “misappropriation” into DeSantis- and Uthmeier-linked political committees opposed to a recreational marijuana constitutional amendment. DeSantis suspended Worrell and removed her from office on Aug. 9, 2023, for “neglecting her duty to faithfully prosecute crime in her jurisdiction,” but she later won reelection.
Graduate student Madison Askins alleges the Student Union at FSU lacked proper security to prevent the shootings and seeks damages worth more than $50,000. Families of the two people who died in the shooting filed lawsuits against ChatGPT. Two additional lawsuits claim the alleged shooter was “co-conspiring” with its AI chatbot. The state filed suit against ChatGPT earlier this year, alleging the company should have known the damage its chatbot would cause.
Cuts to nutrition assistance will reverberate among kids other than those on SNAP or Medicaid. States that provide free meals regardless of income also qualify for federal funding, and the complicated formula means a slight change in SNAP enrollment could threaten free meals for everyone. “Cuts to SNAP are not going to stop at the grocery store,” says Clarissa Hayes, deputy director of child nutrition programs and policy at the Food Research & Action Center
